Frequently asked questions

Do we need IT expertise to set up?

No. We handle the infrastructure. You just need to follow the setup guide to connect Munin to your Slack workspace or Telegram group — no technical expertise required, just access to create a bot user in your workspace. Takes 20–30 minutes.

Where is the knowledge base stored?

With us, encrypted with AES-256 on disk. All access is logged — you can request a copy of the log at any time. We are contractually obligated not to read the content of your knowledge base, and breach of this gives you the right to terminate the agreement immediately.

What happens to messages sent to the bot?

Messages are sent to the Anthropic Claude API to generate responses, and to Groq Whisper for voice transcription. We never log message content — only anonymised statistical events (number of questions, error types, etc.).

Can't you just connect to SharePoint or Google Drive?

Garbage in, garbage out. SharePoint is full of outdated procedures and files nobody remembers creating. Munin learns from what you actively choose to share — that's why the answers are good. Integrations with external services are on the roadmap, but we recommend starting with what the team actually uses regardless.

Can we try for free?

Yes. All plans include 14 days free. No payment is taken before the trial period is over, and you can cancel before then at no cost.

What happens if we cancel?

You can cancel your subscription at any time from the Vipps app. Your data stays on our server — we don't delete it. Export the knowledge base with !kb export if you want to take it with you.

What if we change a process — will Munin only know the old one?

Yes, until someone updates the knowledge base. It's exactly like with a new colleague — if you don't tell Lars the process changed, he'll keep doing it the old way. Munin is no different, but easier to update: send a document, type !kb add in Slack, or say it out loud and press 🧠. 30 seconds. Many teams find that Munin pushes them to document changes they'd never have written down otherwise.

How do I know what's in the knowledge base?

Type !kb list in Slack or Telegram to see all stored topics. You can also download the full knowledge base as a text file with !kb export — you own the data and can take it with you at any time.

How do I correct something that's wrong in the knowledge base?

Use !kb edit to edit the last entry, or upload a new document with the correct information — Munin prioritises newer knowledge. Munin goes through the knowledge base once a week and notifies you if it finds information that contradicts itself.

Do you support Bitcoin payment?
